BEACH WALKS, A SILENT DISCO AND LOTS OF FOOD!

When I think about February, I think I blinked and I missed it! But looking back now at photos to write this blog I can see now that perhaps I didn't, and actually it was a pretty good month!

The first picture up above is another candid (irony) picture of myself and the mako shark on Sheringham beach. I was blissfully unaware of the fact that a mere 5 hours later I would be walking into my own surprise silent disco in celebration of my 30th Birthday, something which I'm not ashamed to admit we eked out for nearly 3 and a half weeks!

For those of you who are not familiar with the North Norfolk coast one thing I will tell is that we are incredibly spoilt. We are blessed with miles and miles of coastline, with café's dotted along the way, which makes dog walking here an absolute dream!

However, something to note is that a vast proportion of Sheringham beach is essentially a whole load of ankle twisting pebbles, great for the glutes, bad for actually covering much distance! If you get fed up this tricky terrain there are great little low cut throughs where you can get up onto the cliff walk. The reward for this is the view, and if you're lucky enough to catch the golden hour you're certainly in for a treat.

A silent disco.

Now that is exactly what I walked into that evening, and my god, was it not one of the best nights of my life! Minus a few friends who couldn't make it, everyone who I loved was there to surprise me, glammed up with headphones at the ready! There were three channels of music to choose from, and I cannot explain to you the hilariousness of watching people dance to Stormzy contrasting to the dancing of those belting it out to The Lion King. David Lane, you have been named and yes there is video evidence.

Decorations, lighting, food and drink, I couldn't have been more grateful for those who made the effort to surprise me and make my 30th feel special.

Now all this walking and dancing certainly builds up you appetite!

Another thing February delivered on was the 'popping out for lunches'. I'm lucky enough to have friends who love eating out at cafe's just as much as me. This month we went to a bespoke café called Ber Street Kitchen for brunch. It's a quirky little place in Norwich, just up the road from John Lewis, and it's certainly worth a visit. You need to book in advance as it's quite snug inside, however the the breakfast and lunch options available more than made up that! As a vegetarian I find you can be sometimes be limited on choice, at a push perhaps a couple of options, however I found here there was a lot on the menu, almost too many good things to choose from!

If the brunch hasn't quite satisfied your appetite then there is a plentiful selection of cakes, desserts and barista made coffee's.

See the link below to visit their website, not an ad just appreciate local businesses doing a good job at what they do!
